Here's the deal: A three-way deal sends Granderson to New York and Edwin Jackson to Arizona. In return the Tigers receive
center-field prospect Austin Jackson and left-hander Phil Coke from New York, plus right-handed starting pitcher Max Scherzer and lefty reliever Daniel Schlereth from Arizona.
Sure, Detroit picks-up some good, young players....but the REAL reason this trade went down is because the Tigers are in the TOP FIVE in payroll and they aren't seeing a DECENT RETURN ON THEIR INVESTMENT!!!!

Woman taken from Tiger Woods' home to hospital
Reports: Black Cadillac Escalade similar to Tiger Woods' SUV at Health Central Hospital.

Orange County firefighters responded to a medical call at Tiger Woods' Isleworth mansion this morning and transported a woman to the hospital.
Orange County Fire Rescue spokeswoman Genevieve Latham said firefighters responded to a home in the 6300 block of Deacon Circle at 2:36 a.m. The exact address of the call is listed as Tiger Woods' home, according to Orange County property records.
Initial reports showed rescue crews did not transport anyone from the home, but Latham later countered that report and explained the information regarding that call had been incorrectly entered into their system.
"The command center made an error," Latham said. "The information was put in backward. Rescue crews did transport a patient to the hospital."
Rescue crews took the patient to Health Central Hospital in Ocoee. That is the same hospital that had treated Woods after he crashed his black Cadillac Escalade outside his house on Nov. 27.
Latham did not disclose the identity of the woman.
Video footage taken at the hospital show a black Cadillac Escalade, similar to the vehicle Woods had crashed outside his home, appeared at Health Central Hospital shortly after the 911 call to Woods' home, a report on WFTV.com shows.
The video footage from that news site shows the vehicle's tag is similar to the one on Woods' car, as reported in the Florida Highway Patrol's crash report.
The news site described the driver as a blonde woman.

The 16th Honoured Member of the HBWHOF is Mrs. Mike Piazza....Alicia Rickter.



Ms. Rickter was Playboy's Miss October 1995....she was the magazine's 500th Playmate.
She has appeared on Baywatch Hawaii and The Young and the Restless. Alicia married catcher Mike Piazza on January 29th, 2005. They had a daughter on February 3rd, 2007....

1) Sunday's LONDON DAILY MIRROR reported that Tiger led a "parallel life of sex and sleaze in complete contrast to his Mr Clean public image."
Mistress #4 was Jamie Jungers - a 26-year-old model he picked-up at the Bellagio Hotel in Vegas. Ms. Jungers was an employee of an events and promotion company in Vegas called TRASHY GIRLS!!!

MORE HABS 100TH ANNIVERSARY

The HBWHOF was so impressed with the Montreal Canadiens Centennial Celebration on Friday night that I'm leading-off today's post with some more pictures!!

Jean Beliveau or, as they call him in La Belle Province, Le Gros Bill....17 Stanley Cup rings....10 as a player - 7 as a team executive!!!



Henri Richard....the Rocket's little brother a.k.a. "The Pocket Rocket"....11 Stanley Cup rings - ALL as a player!!!



Here's some video of the pre-game warmup. Patrick Roy was the first player on the ice....but most of these guys played for the 1976-77 Habs who went 60-8-12 for 132 points....ONLY 8 LOSSES ALL SEASON!!! Needless to say - they won the Stanley Cup.

Oh well, I'm sure the Tigers can find another 2nd baseman who can GO AN ENTIRE FREAKIN' SEASON WITHOUT COMMITTING AN ERROR!!!!

A VERY SPECIAL NIGHT

Today's post is going to be short and sweet!!
I just finished watching the Centennial Celebration at the Bell Centre.
Like everything done by the Montreal Canadiens organization - the ceremony was FIRST CLASS!!!
During the pre-game warmup the ice was filled with Canadiens' legends in full equipment.
Frank Mahovlich, Larry Robinson, Steve Shutt, Yvan Cournoyer, Guy Lafleur and many other retired greats taking shots on Ken Dryden, with his legendary 'target' mask resting on the top of the net, rocking the old-school pads between the pipes!!!

Gordie Howe showed-up - walking onto the ice carrying a Maurice Richard jersey and holding it up to the crowd - and introduced the legendary Jean Beliveau!!!



The Habs then brought out Emile Bouchard(3) and Elmer Lach(16) and retired their numbers - raising them up to the Bell Centre rafters.



The Canadiens are playing one of their fiercest rivals - the Boston Bruins.
Montreal goaltender Carey Price is wearing a special Centennial Game Mask!!
The mask was created by Toronto artist David Arrigo. Arrigo also did the artwork for the mask that Price wore for Remembrance Day (HBWHOF - Nov. 13/09).
The mask features the likenesses of six of the club's Hall of Fame netminders, as well as a listing of the 24 seasons in which the Habs have won the Stanley Cup.
On the left side you'll see, from top down, Georges Vézina, Patrick Roy and George Hainsworth. On the right: Bill Durnan, Ken Dryden and Jacques Plante. Also appearing are the various logos that have appeared on the Canadiens sweater through the decades and a face-circling blue border very reminiscent of Dryden's "target" mask. On the chin is the stylized C that appears on the jersey the Canadiens wore in 1909-10, their first season, and on the back of the helmet are the Cup-winning years.








If you're a hockey fan....you couldn't help but get chills!!
It was an amazing tribute - rivalled only by the ceremony held for the last game at the old Montreal Forum.
The Montreal Canadiens are 100 Years Old!! TWENTY-FOUR STANLEY CUPS!!!

My father was a big hockey fan. His favourite player was Maurice 'Rocket' Richard. Today my dad would have turned 90 years old - December 4th, 1919.
He passed away in 1968 - but the HBWHOF is raising a glass to toast my father, his favourite player - the Rocket....and the Montreal Canadiens!!!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY BOYS!!!!
